Why We Give
Giving is a vital expression of our faith and the building blocks of the Kingdom. Throughout Scripture, Jesus emphasized generosity more than topics like Heaven, Hell, or prayer. As followers of Christ, understanding our call to give is essential for embodying the heart of God. Here at theChurch, we express our generosity through:
Tithe
The tithe, or the “first fruits” of our labor and income, belongs to God. This principle is woven throughout God’s Word, teaching us that tithing—giving the first 10% of our income to our local church—acknowledges God as our priority (Proverbs 3:9–10). It is a powerful way to participate in His Kingdom work.
Offerings
Offerings are our chance to give above and beyond the tithe. The Bible invites us to give generously, as this enables us to “take hold of the life that is truly life” (1 Timothy 6:18–19). When we give freely, we align ourselves with the heart of God and contribute to His transformative mission in the world.
The Gift of Giving
The gift of giving is a spiritual blessing from God that enables certain individuals to serve Him through their generosity (Romans 12:8). This Spirit-led capacity to give generously empowers us to further His Kingdom and make a lasting impact in the lives of others.
